A Cover of the main theme of the Pink Floyd song. Long brodding build up to a grand finale & choir of Harmony Lead Guitars.
Conceived c1995 This is Take 7 Mix 22 recorded April 2010 Sonar 6/8.5 and September 2015 Sonar X1
My version of the "Celestial Voices" finale to the title track of Pink Floyd's second album, w / an over abundance of Keyboard.O.D.!
TRIPLE harmony lead guitars here, the final one took the longest to get right, without duplicating my other parts!! But perverse perseverance paid off in the end!
My first two or three takes I did before I had a Keyboard, featured Guitars thru a Digitech TSR-24 Synth Guitar FX Algorithm to simulate..... ...(NOOOTT!!) Keyboards, and in yet another ludicrous experiment, my Drum Machine Tubular Bells thru the above mentioned algorithm (for same said ridiculously futile purpose!!)
There's a fine line between Clever..... And hopeless!
Interesting aside here: It wasn't until I began working on this song in earnest
that I realized how MUCH in common, melody & chord progression-wise, this song has not only with ANOTHER more well known Pink Floyd song (Comfortably Numb), but ALSO the Eagles Hotel California!!
(On a dark desert highway.. /..is there anyone home??!!)
Yes Virginia, there IS NO originality in Rock!
Only the keys have been changed to protect from a lawsuit!!!
But of course that didn't help George Harrison ANY!
